FHI 360 - FHI 360 manages and implements the WASHplus project with core partners CORE and Winrock International. FHI 360 is a global development organization which works in evidence based research, health, environment, economic development, and education. 

Berkeley Air Monitoring Group measures indicators related to solid fuel and biomass energy. Berkeley Air develops and measures indoor air pollution indicators and results.

Building Partnerships for Development in Water and Sanitation (BPD) conducts action research, supports organizations, and holds learning events. BPD brokers effective water and sanitation partnerships globally and in-county. 

CARE helps communities improve lives and fight poverty. CARE supports WASH policy, advocacy, gender and local governance activities.

International Development Enterprises builds profitable enterprises and value chains that deliver sustainable social and economic benefits to the rural poor. IDE works to extend or scale up program implementation in Cambodia. 

Practica Foundation facilitates research, development and commercial application of technology in the field of water and energy in developing countries. Practica supports extension or scale up of program implementation. 

Task Force for Global Health works in disease eradication and control, child well-being, global health collaboration, and public health informatics. It helps integrate WASH interventions with Neglected Tropical Diseases programs. 

Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor is a partnership between the private sector, civil society and academia to address inadequate access to water and sanitation for the urban poor. WSUP provides specialized expertise in WASH engineering in urban areas. 

WaterAid works locally and internationally to influence policy and ensure that water, hygiene and sanitation's vital role in reducing poverty is recognized. WaterAid works to extend or scale up program implementation in countries where it has a strong presence.

Winrock International is a nonprofit organization that works with people in the United States and around the world to empower the disadvantaged, increase economic opportunity, and sustain natural resources. Winrock provides leadership in indoor air quality, multiple uses of water and country program management.

Finance

Envirofit has created a clean cookstove business in India and established new distribution and sales networks to reach rural homes. Envirofit collaborates on developing cookstove products and related services to improve indoor air quality.

Medentech develops manufactures, and markets cost effective disinfection solutions. Medentech matches products and services with WASHplus investments in select countries.

Proctor & Gamble provides branded products and services to improve the lives of the world’s consumers. P&G matches products and services with WAShplus investments in select countries.

Innovation and Operation Research

Aprovecho Research Center designs and implements improved biomass cooking and heating technologies in more than 60 countries worldwide. Aprovecho develops, tests, and markets new clean cookstove design.

D-Lab is a program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that fosters the development of appropriate technologies and sustainable solutions for international development. D-Lab develops new technology assessment/evaluation processes and supports innovation incubators in select countries.

IDEO.org employs a human-centered design process to help nonprofit organizations, foundations, and social enterprises innovate for those who need it most - those facing poverty everyday. In the WASH sector, IDEO.org is partnering with a variety of organizations to design new and strengthen existing WASH products, services, systems, and business models.

London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) pursues research, postgraduate teaching and advanced training in national and international public health and tropical medicine. LSHTM staff advise on evaluation of handwashing and other WASH interventions.

University of California, Berkeley - Center for Global Public Health collaborates on project operations research activities in both WASH and IAQ, including the University’s pioneering research on stoves.

Knowledge Management

IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre facilitates creation, sharing and use of knowledge for and among WASH organizations. IRC supports knowledge management for WASHplus.

Second Muse is a boutique digital agency that facilitates collaboration to achieve breakthrough innovation in development. SecondMuse works with WASHplus to plan and implement knowledge management strategies.

Public and Private Partnerships

Shell Foundation has created a clean cookstove enterprise in India with Envirofit and established new distribution and sales networks to reach rural homes. Shell Foundation collaborates with WASHplus in establishing public-private partnerships.

Unilever produces more than 400 brands of health products and its Lifebuoy campaign promotes hygiene through handwashing with soap. Unilever matches products and services with WASHplus investments in select countries.

United Nations Foundation is a public charity that advocates for the UN and connects people, ideas, and resources to help the UN solve global problems. UNF will provide guidance on clean coosktoves and indoor air quality issues.

Water.org works with local partners to deliver innovative solutions to improve access to water and sanitation. It supports innovative approaches to WASH financing through its Water Credit Initiative.

Women’s World Banking provides microloans for women to start water, sanitation, household energy and other related businesses. Women’s World Banking designs innovative financing products for WASH and IAQ consumers and develops mechanisms to use microfinance associations as delivery channels for WASH and IAQ information, products, and services.
